Administered through the Nanaimo Foundation, the Fund will give back to families in need in the local communities across British Columbia and Alberta that Tom Harris Cellular serves.
This year, the Tom Harris Fund for Families exceeded its fundraising goal of $25,000 through generous business partners, local community events, customer donations, and a "Fly for Families" fundraising campaign where Tom Harris Cellular employees will be skydiving to raise awareness for the cause.
Through a partnership with the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, the funds raised will send hundreds of children to summer camp this year who wouldn't have otherwise had the opportunity due to financial hardship.
Tony Harris, Tom's son, shared, "this initiative would have Dad bursting with pride and gratitude; young people enjoying summer to the fullest gave him immense joy."
On June 29, 2018, celebrations will be held at Tom Harris Cellular retail locations, where a percentage of all sales that day will be donated to the Fund for Families. The public is invited to join in the celebrations! To find a store near you, please visit tomharris.com/locations.
